www.8885.co.uk is a site operated by 8885 Clothing (we, our, us). 

Ordering

After placing an order, you will receive an email from us acknowledging that we have safely received it. This does not mean that your order has been accepted. All orders are subject to acceptance by us, and we will send you a second email to confirm acceptance and dispatch of your order.

 

The contract between us (‘contract’) will only be made when we send you this email to confirm acceptance and dispatch. Only those products listed in the email as being dispatched will be included in the contract.

 

Availability

All products are subject to stock availability. We will inform you as soon as possible if all the products in your order are not available and we will cancel your order. If only some of the products in your order are available this will be explained in your acceptance and dispatch email. If you pay by credit or debit card we will not charge you for products which are not available.

 

If you pay using PayPal any payment made for products which are not available will be credited back to your PayPal account.

 We may, from time to time and at our absolute discretion, limit purchases to no more than 10 (or any other quantity that we decide is appropriate) of any one item per transaction.

 

Ordering errors

You are able to make changes to your order up to the point at which you click on the Place Order button in checkout. 

 

Prices

Please be aware that the prices displayed on our site include Value Added Tax where applicable but exclude delivery costs, which will be added to the total amount due. The applicable delivery costs will be clearly displayed during the checkout process.

Due to the large number of products on our site, it is always possible that some of the products listed on our site may be incorrectly priced, despite our best efforts.

 

If we discover there is a pricing error, we will normally, at our discretion, either: (i) contact you and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or canceling it; or (ii) reject your order and notify you of the rejection.

 

Payment

We accept payment with the following credit or debit cards: Visa credit and debit cards, MasterCard credit and debit cards and Charge Cards, Switch/Maestro debit cards, Visa Electron cards.

 

We also accept payment by 8885 gift cards, 8885 eGift cards, PayPal, Apple Pay & Google Pay.

 

Please note that if you wish to pay for your products using PayPal, and you do not already have an existing PayPal account, you will be required to set up a new account with PayPal directly.

Presently, we do not accept cash, cheques or gift vouchers as payment online. By submitting an order to us through our site, you are confirming that the payment details provided on your order are valid and correct.

 

All transactions will be in pounds sterling. Non-UK credit card providers and banks will determine the exchange rates to be applied and may add an additional processing or administration charge in relation to such payments which non-UK card holders will be liable to pay.

 

We will not charge your credit or debit card until we dispatch your order. Any order placed using PayPal, a 8885 gift card or 8885 eGift card will be charged at the time your order is submitted.

 

If we reject or cancel your order for any reason this charge will be credited back to your PayPal account, 8885 gift card or 8885 eGift card (as applicable). 

Please note that items bought via PayPal can only be refunded to the linked bank card if they are returned to a store. Items returned by post will be refunded to your PayPal account.

 

Please keep your 8885 gift card / 8885 eGift card safe. We will only refund to the same 8885 gift card or 8885 eGift card you used for payment.

Your billing address and delivery address need to be in the same country in order for your order to be successful.  

Delivery Pass T&Cs 

1. The 8885 Delivery costs is a minimum of £2.99,

2. The Delivery Cost is only available to those currently residing in the UK and for deliveries and collections to a UK address.

3. The Delivery Cost can only be used for orders placed on 8885.co.uk

4. Provided you have not made any additional purchases you are entitled, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, to cancel your subscription up to 14 days after your first payment is taken or after your subscription is renewed.

 

To cancel your subscription using this right please contact our Customer Service team.

5. We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at our discretion. 8885 Clothing will notify you in the event that there are any significant changes to these terms and conditions. All other 8885 Clotthing terms and conditions still apply.

6. To ensure your order arrives when you expect, we may make changes to delivery options during busy periods. The options that are available will be made clear during checkout.

7. A full list of our delivery and collection options can be viewed online, along with the delivery timescales.

8. We will always aim to get your order to you in line with the promised delivery timescales. However in times of high demand we reserve the right to change your delivery to a different option. We’ll let you know if we do this.

9. At times of high demand, we reserve the right to make temporary changes to our usual service. We will ensure the Delivery returns to normal as quickly as possible.

10. We reserve the right to terminate your account subscription at any time. We will offer refunds at our discretion but no refund will be given to any customer who has breached these terms and conditions or has taken part in illegal or fraudulent activity relating to an order or Our Site.

E-Receipt Privacy Notice

How we use your information:

You have given us your e-mail address as you have chosen to receive an e-mail receipt, we will store this securely on our system so that if you ask we can send you e-mail receipts for any future purchases you make.

 

This saves time and reduces the scope for error, we also believe it is more convenient for you the customer. In addition to your e-mail address we also store a security ‘token’ that recognises your payment card so that your e-mail is immediately available.

 

This token is issued by the card companies, is secure and does not allow us, or anyone else, to work out your full card number. Storage of your data (which may be for up to 1 year after the last transaction) are on the basis of our legitimate interest of making shopping for our customers more convenient and our business more efficient.

 

If you do not want us to store this information please let us know by forwarding this e-mail to info@8885.co.uk stating your objection.

Promotions & Discounts T&Cs

The promo code I’ve entered is not working!

Spaces: While using a promo code on the bag page, please make sure there is no space at the end or beginning of the promo code on the Enter Promo Code box.

Do not Copy and Paste: Always type the promo code manually, including any hyphens (-).

Do not use promo code on sale items: Promo codes are only valid on full-priced items.

Do not use promo codes on concession/branded items.

Single Use Coupon Codes: Some offers, such as ‘10% off’ can only be used once. It may be that this promo code has already been used.

How do I use a promotional code?

At checkout, manually type the promotional code in the ‘Enter a Promo Code or Student ID’. You can find this box just underneath the list of items in your bag.

Once you have entered the code, click ‘apply’ and continue to checkout.

• Promotions and discounts are not valid in conjunction with any other offer. This includes student discount, staff discount, sale and multi-buy offers eg. 2 for £12.00.

Multi-buy promotions apply to those items specifically listed, which are subject to change and availability. Prices exclude postage and packing. If you do not purchase enough items to qualify for the discount; the items will be charged at their normal price (for example, if the multi-buy promotion is 'buy 3 x £5 t-shirts for £12' and you purchase 2 t-shirts you will be charged £10).

Unless stated otherwise, the return value of the item(s) purchased under this promotion shall be the applicable return value under 8885's return policy less the percentage discount obtained.

If you purchase gift cards or eGift cards through Wix you accept their terms and conditions which are as follows:

DEFINED WORDS: In these terms and conditions a capitalised word has a particular meaning. This paragraph explains the meaning of some of those capitalised words by showing the relevant words in brackets after their meaning.

Other meanings are explained in other paragraphs in the same way. These terms and conditions (“Terms”) relate to the supply of any of the products (“Products”) and/or services (“Services”) listed on this website at https://www.8885.co.uk/gift-card (“Website”).

 

Any reference in these Terms to “we”, “us” or “our” is a reference to Wix and any reference to “you” or “your” is a reference to any user of the Website and, where relevant, the recipient of any Product or Service from the Website (“Recipient”).

Gift cards and eGift cards - General

1. The Products available via the Website may include the following as well as others: 

i.   physical gift cards ("Gift Cards"); and 

ii.  digital gift cards (“eGifts”). 

2. The Services available via the Website may include the following as well as others: 

3. Gift Cards and eGifts shall in each case be treated as cash. 

4. The sale of 8885 Gift Cards and eGifts made via the Website ("Website Sales") are managed by Wix. 

5. Gift Cards and eGifts purchased via Website Sales can be purchased in £Sterling with a minimum value of £25 and a maximum value of £200. 

6. Payment for Gift Cards and eGifts can be made via VISA or MasterCard, debit or credit card. 

7. Each transaction is subject to fraud checks and Wix reserves the right to refuse an order if the payment is subject to additional verification or scrutiny or for any other reason, without providing explanation.

Ordering from us

8. To purchase a Gift Card, add the Gift Card to your basket. When your order has been processed and we have taken payment, you will receive and email (within 24 hours from the time of purchase during normal business hours from Monday to Friday) with confirmation of your purchase.

 

Your Gift Card will be delivered based on your Delivery Type selection (see, “Dispatch of Orders”). Wix and 8885 accept no responsibility for the customer inputting the incorrect delivery address to which the Gift Card should be delivered. 

9. To purchase an eGift, add the eGift to your basket. When your order has been processed and we have taken payment, you or the Recipient of your order will receive an email (within 24 hours from the time of purchase during normal business hours from Monday to Friday) containing a link to the purchased eGift.

 

Wix and 8885 accept no responsibility for the customer inputting the incorrect email address to which the eGift should be delivered. 

10. If you are sending an e-Gift to yourself to print at home, the email Recipient will receive an email containing a link to the purchased eGift. Once the Recipient has received the email with the link to the eGift you will receive a PDF attachment. This PDF is your eGift. 

11. Risk will pass to the customer upon delivery and title will pass upon receipt of payment in full. Neither Wix nor 8885 has any liability for lost, stolen or damaged Gift Cards once risk has passed to the customer at time of delivery. 

12. If you do not have enough funds on your Gift Card or eGift to cover the total cost of your order (including delivery), you can split payment between your Gift Card or eGift respectively and another payment method. If you do have enough funds on your Gift Card or eGift to cover the total cost of your order, split payment will not apply. 

13. If you use an eGift as split payment for a purchase (part eGift, part debit/credit card or cash) and you subsequently return the purchase, the eGift will be refunded first and the remaining balance will be refunded to the other method of payment originally used.

 

14. Once your payment has been received the following cancellation and refund policies apply under the following circumstances: 

i. full refunds are offered for faulty or damaged Gift Cards; 

ii. if a Gift Card is yet to be despatched, a full refund will be offered; 

iii. if a Gift Card has been despatched and still has the full balance on the Gift Card, a refund will be offered minus any delivery charges of the gift card; 

iv. If an eGift has been delivered and still has the full balance on the eGift, a full refund will be offered; 

v. if a Gift Card has been despatched and part/all of the balance has been used, no refund will be offered; or 

vi. if an eGift has been delivered and part/all of the balance has been used, no refund will be offered. 

15. The Gift Card or eGift will be valid for 24 months from the date of order. Any balance remaining will be deducted to nil and forfeited. 

16. Wix is not directly linked to 8885 or any 8885 company and Wix cannot take responsibility for products and services offered by 8885 or 8885 companies. In addition, 8885 shall not be responsible for services offered by Wix and its associated companies. 

17. The collection and management of your credit card data and personal information which is collected, processed and managed is solely used to authorise payment and is not held by Wix or 8885. Any personal data collected will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018. 

18. Gift Card and/or eGift quantities should be checked immediately upon receipt. Any discrepancies must be notified immediately to 8885 Customer Service. Neither Wix nor 8885 can be held responsible for any shortage or loss of any Gift Cards not notified to Wix/8885 within seven working days of delivery or the specified delivery date in respect of lost cards. 

19. Payment is taken at the time of purchase of the Gift Card. Cleared payment is required prior to the despatch of orders. Your credit/debit card statement will read "The Voucher Market Ltd”. Wix cannot be held responsible for failure to meet its service obligations when any failure is brought about due to a cause totally beyond its reasonable control, for example: acts of God, trade disputes; governmental intervention, fire, flood, and disruption to computer and IT infrastructure. 

20. Breach of these terms and conditions by you will entitle Wix and/or 8885 to seek the appropriate legal remedy available for injunction, damages or otherwise. 

21. Whilst the contents of the gift card website are checked for accuracy, Wix cannot be held responsible for omissions or errors or any statements made on the site. Nor is Wix responsible for any losses incurred if information is used from the website or if accessing the site may result in viruses to your computer equipment. 

22. The images on the website including trademarks can only be used with the permission of 8885 Clothing.

23. Gift Cards and eGifts can be redeemed in UK stores and online using the 16-digit number and 4-digit pin number. Customers must print the eGift to redeem the eGift in store.

Dispatch of orders

24. Gift Cards ordered through Website Sales will be sent to the delivery address stated on the individual order. Deliveries will be made using First Class post, Registered Signed For or Special Delivery via Royal Mail, as specified on the order. Orders sent by Registered and Special Delivery will require a signature on arrival. 

25. Gift Cards will normally be dispatched within three working days unless a later delivery date is specified. During busy periods, dispatch can take up to 7 working days. Orders sent by Special Delivery will be delivered before 1pm the next working day. Orders must be placed and paid for by 2pm to qualify for Special Delivery.

 

Where possible Wix will try to meet all delivery requirements but neither Wix nor 8885 shall be liable for any loss incurred either directly or indirectly by failure to meet the requested delivery date. A Loss in this instance includes any loss of profit, costs, damages, charges, other expenses, consequential losses and non-financial losses. 

26. Rights you grant us 

i. Our Service lets you create, upload, post, send, receive and store content. When you do that, you retain whatever ownership rights in that content you had to begin with. But you grant us a licence to use that content.

 

ii. For all Services you grant Wix and our affiliates a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable and transferable license to host, store, use, display, reproduce, modify, adapt, edit, publish and distribute that content. This license is for the limited purpose of operating, developing, providing, promoting and improving the Services and researching and developing new ones. 

iii. Though we’re not required to do so, we may access, review, screen and delete your content at any time and for any reason, including if we think your content violates these Terms. However, you alone remain responsible for the content you create, upload, post, send or store through the Service. 

iv. The Services may contain advertisements. In consideration for Wix letting you access and use the Services, you agree that we, our affiliates and our third-party partners may place advertising on the Services. Because the Services contain content that you and other users provide us, advertising may sometimes appear near your content. 

27. The content of others 

i. As the Recipient of an eGift, much of the content on our Services is produced by users, publishers and other third parties. Whether that content is posted publicly or sent privately, the content is the sole responsibility of the person or organization that submitted it. Although Wix and 8885 reserves the right to review or remove all content that appears on the Services, we do not necessarily review all of it. 

So we can't – and don't – take responsibility for any content that others provide through the Services. 

ii. Through these Terms, we make clear that we don't want the Services to be put to bad use. But because we don't review all content, we cannot guarantee that content on the Services will always conform to our Terms.

Conduct & Safety

28. We try hard to keep our Services a safe place for all users. But we can’t guarantee it.

That’s where you come in. By using the Services, you agree that: 

i. you will not use the Services for any purpose that is illegal or prohibited in these Terms; 

ii. you will not use any robot, spider, crawler, scraper or other automated means or interface to access the Services or extract other users' information; 

iii. you will not use or develop any third-party applications that interact with the Services or other users’ content or information without our written consent; 

iv. you will not use the Services in a way that could interfere with, disrupt, affect negatively or inhibit other users from fully enjoying the Services or that could damage, disable, overburden or impair the functioning of the Services; 

v. you will not post content that contains pornography, graphic violence, threats, hate speech or incitements to violence; 

vi. you will not upload viruses or other malicious code or otherwise compromise the security of the Services; 

vii. you will not attempt to circumvent any content-filtering techniques we employ or attempt to access areas or features of the Services that you are not authorized to access; 

viii. you will not probe, scan or test the vulnerability of our Services or any system or network; 

ix. you will not encourage or promote any activity that violates these Terms. 

34. By accepting an eGift, the Recipient is deemed to have agreed and assumed the rights and obligations of these Terms.

Privacy

29. Your privacy matters to us. You can learn how we handle your information when you use our Services by reading our privacy policy. We encourage you to give the Privacy Policy a careful look, because by using our Services, you agree that Wix can collect, use and share your information consistent with that policy. 

30. Respecting other people’s rights Wix respects the rights of others. And so should you. You therefore may not use the Services in a manner that: 

i. violates or infringes someone else’s rights of publicity, privacy, copyright, trademark or other intellectual-property right; 

ii. bullies, harasses or intimidates; 

iii. defames; 

iv. spams or solicits our users. 

31. You must also respect Wix’s rights. These Terms do not grant you any right to: 

i. use branding, logos, designs, photographs, videos or any other materials used in our Services; 

ii. copy, archive, download, upload, distribute, syndicate, broadcast, perform, display, make available or otherwise use any portion of the Services or the content on the Services except as set forth in these Terms; 

iii. use the Services, any tools provided by the Services or any content on the Services for any commercial purposes without our consent. 

32. In short: you may not use the Services or the content on the Services in ways that are not authorised by these Terms. Nor may you help anyone else to do so.

Copyright

33. Wix honours the requirements set out in the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. We therefore take reasonable steps to expeditiously remove from our Services any infringing material that we become aware of. And if Wix becomes aware that one of its users has repeatedly infringed copyrights, we will take reasonable steps within our power to terminate the user’s account. 

34. We make it easy for you to report suspected copyright infringement. If you believe that anything on the Services infringes a copyright that you own or control, please contact www.8885.co.uk

Third party services

35. If you use a service, feature or functionality that is operated by a third party and made available through our Services (including Services we offer jointly with the third party), each party’s terms will govern the respective party’s relationship with you. Wix is not responsible or liable for a third party’s terms or actions taken under the third party’s terms.

Modifying the services & Termination

36. We’re relentlessly improving our Services and creating new ones all the time. This means that we may add or remove features, products or functionalities and we may also suspend or stop the Services altogether. We may take any of these actions at any time and, when we do, we may not provide you with any notice beforehand. 

37. Wix may also terminate these Terms with you at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice. This means that we may stop providing you with any Services, or impose new or additional limits on your ability to use our Services.

 

38. Regardless of who terminates these Terms, both you and Wix continue to be bound by clauses of the Terms.

Disclaimer

39. We try to keep the Services up and running and free of annoyances, but we make no promises that we will succeed. 

40. The Products and Services are provided “as is” and “as available” and to the extent permitted by law without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. In addition, while Wix attempts to provide a good user experience, we do not represent or warrant that: 

i. the services will always be secure, error-free or timely; 

ii. the services will always function without delays, disruptions or imperfections; or 

iii. that any content, user content or information you obtain on or through the services will be timely or accurate. 

41. Wix takes no responsibility and assumes no liability for any content that you, another user or a third party creates, uploads, posts, sends, receives or stores on or through our services. you understand and agree that you may be exposed to content that might be offensive, illegal, misleading or otherwise inappropriate, none of which Wix will be responsible for.

Limitation of liability

42. We use reasonable care and skill to provide our Products and/or Services in accordance with our specifications but: 

i. the Products and/or Services are provided "as is"; 

ii. we cannot and do not guarantee that the Products and/or Services will meet your requirements. 

43. We shall have no obligation, duty or liability whatsoever in contract, tort (including negligence, breach of statutory duty and any other tort) or otherwise, save as expressly provided in these Terms.

 

44. Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts our liability for fraudulent misrepresentation or for death or personal injury resulting from our negligence, nor our contractual obligations in respect of products we agree to supply following our acceptance of your order. 

45. We, our agents, directors, officers, shareholders, employees and subcontractors will not be liable to you or anyone else, whether in contract, tort (including negligence, breach of statutory duty or other tort) or otherwise: 

i. for any loss of revenue, data, business, anticipated savings, profits, opportunity, goodwill or reputation, or for any business interruption; 

ii. any loss or corruption of data; 

iii. any loss or damage which does not directly result from (or which exceeds that which was caused as a direct result of) our breach of this Agreement, howsoever caused or arising. 

46. Except as expressly stated elsewhere in these Terms, all representations, warranties, conditions and other terms, whether express or implied (by common law, statute, collaterally or otherwise) are hereby excluded, except in the case of fraud, or where such exclusion is not permitted by law. 

47. We will not be liable for any failure to perform our obligations under these Terms caused by matters beyond our reasonable control.

Although we can deliver to the Scottish Highlands & Islands, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly and British Forces Post Office (BFPO) addresses, delivery to these locations may take a little longer. 

When you have chosen the products you want to buy from us, the delivery address will default automatically to the billing address you have entered for your payment card. If you want us to deliver your order to a different address, you can choose this option as you go through the checkout process.

Legal Right to cancel

If you are a consumer you have the legal right to cancel. A consumer is any natural person who carries out transactions not for commercial or self-employment purposes.
 

Instructions on your right to cancel

You have the legal right to cancel your order within seven days, without giving a reason.

This cancellation period of Seven days starts with the day you or a person of your choice, who is not the deliverer, have/ has received the goods.

In order to apply your legal right to cancel you need to contact us with a clear statement (e.g. by post, fax or E-Mail) and let us know about your decision to cancel this contract. You may use the enclosed template for this purpose; however it is not legally required. 

In order to comply with the time limit, it is sufficient to post the cancellation notice before the fourteen days end.

Consequences of the cancellation

If you have cancelled this contract, we are obliged to refund your payment, including delivery costs, within fourteen days starting with the day we received your cancellation notice (with the exception of additional costs, as a result of your decision to choose a different delivery option other than the cheapest standard delivery offered by us).

 

In order to refund your money, we will use the same transaction that you chose in order to pay, unless we specifically agreed on an alternative refund method. A  postal return to our warehouse may be subject to an additional fee. We can deny the refund until we have either received the products or proof that you have sent them, depending on the earlier point of time.

You need to send back the products immediately within Seven days starting from the date you have informed us about the cancellation of the contract, to us or 8885 Clothing Printful,Antar 2 Headway Road,Wolverhampton,WV10 6PZ,UK. The deadline is met, if you post the goods before the expiry of the period of Seven days.

Cancellation right exceptions

The right to cancel does not include the delivery of sealed goods, which on the grounds relating to protection of health, are not suitable for being returned when they have been opened by the consumer. These include for example piercings, beach wear, hair extensions, beauty products, hygiene products and parfums.

8885 Clothing returns policy

We hope you will be delighted with everything you have bought from us, but if you are unhappy with your products for any reason, you can return them to us in accordance with this Returns Policy within 28 days. These 28 days are regardless of your legal right to cancel within Seven days.

 

Customers can return their products by post only.

You will be responsible for the cost of returning the products to us by post. We recommend that you use a postal service that insures you for the value of the products you are returning and you should keep proof of postage.

 

We will refund the full price you paid for the products, using the same method you used to pay for them. No exchanges can be made through our warehouse (this is because we cannot guarantee stock levels due to expected high turnover of styles).

Reasonable care

If you want to return or exchange your products, you must take reasonable care of them and they should be returned to us in their original condition, which means that:

  • You can open the packaging to look at and try on the products as you would in our stores.

  • You must not try on the products wearing strong perfume/aftershave or a deodorant which may leave scent or marks on the products.

  • Shoes shouldn’t be worn outside and no scuffing should appear on the sole.

  • Hygiene strips must not be removed from any products (for example, swimwear).

  • Tags should not be removed from products.

  • The original packaging should be retained and returned.

If you fail to take reasonable care of the products before returning them to us, you may have to compensate us. For hygiene reasons we cannot offer refunds on pierced jewellery, cosmetics, face coverings, swimwear where the seal/hygiene sticker has been removed or underwear/briefs if removed from their original packaging. We also cannot offer exchange or refunds on fragrances if the original packaging has been removed. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Risk and title

The products will be at your risk at the time that they enter into your possession or a person identified by you that is authorised to take possession of the products. Ownership of the products will only pass to you at the time of delivery or (if later) when we receive full payment of all sums due in respect of the products, including delivery charges.

Warranty

We will take responsibility for defects in the goods as per statutory provision, in particular §§ 434 ff. BGB.

Liability

Our liability for defects in the goods is as follows:

Our liability in cases of intent and gross negligence is unrestricted.

We are only liable for defects that were not of intent or gross negligence if a duty has been violated, which was of special significance for the contractual purpose (cardinal obligation). In this case our liability is limited to foreseeable damage typical of the contract.

The liability for loss of life, bodily injury or damage to the health of a person on account of assuming a guarantee remains unaffected by the foregoing limitation of liability. 

Returns of non- 8885 Clothing items 

You are responsible for checking the contents of any packages before you return them to us.

We are not responsible for the care or return of the contents of any packages which are erroneously returned to us (which included any products provided by other retailers) (“Erroneous Returns”). We may (but are not required to) contact you to inform you that you have made an Erroneous Return. We will store any Erroneous Returns which we receive for a period of 14 days from the date we receive them.

 

If you have not contacted us regarding the Erroneous Return within this time we will presume that the relevant contents have been abandoned. We reserve the right to destroy any such Erroneous Returns without notice to you. Given the volume of returns we process, we do not promise that we will be able to locate all Erroneous Returns we receive.

 

If we are able to locate an Erroneous Return, we will take reasonable measures to return the relevant contents to you, but reserve the right to first require you to reimburse us for our reasonable costs in processing, storing and returning those contents to you.
